Inside the Arlington Healthy Kids Center, students receive breathing treatments for their asthma, immunizations, physical exams, wellness education, dental screenings, and mental health counseling. The clinic resembles any other doctor's office, with a reception area, two exam rooms, a small laboratory for blood work, and a limited pharmacy. A fun and colorful aquatic theme brightens up the space.
Saint Joseph HealthCare wants to keep kids healthy and in school, too. Especially those who are often missed by the health care system. The clinic does not charge parents for any services, but encourages them to enroll their children in either Medicaid or KCHIP (Kentucky Child Health Insurance Program), from which reimbursement is received.
